5 Stones That Still Kill Giants

One small stone from David slew the giant Goliath who was in full battle gear. We, too, have stones with which to slay the giants harassing and intimidating us in our lives. Stones that still kill giants… each stone a reminder from the Spirit of biblical principles we can apply in our lives.

1. For the Giant GUILT, you need the stone that says...YOU ARE CLEAN. Satan's job is to accuse and hurl charges against us. He makes us carry the heavy yoke of guilt to drag us down. When we get stained by sin, we need to humble ourselves and plead guilty before God. Jesus comes to our defense, with a show of hands as evidence that He bore the punishment we deserved. By Christ's blood, we have been washed clean. Having been justified by Christ, the verdict reads: “NOT GUILTY,” just as it is written: “And such were some of you; but you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, and in the Spirit of our God” (1 Corinthians 6:11). These words are from, “Jesus the faithful witness....to Him who loved us and washed us from our sins in His own blood...” (Revelation 1:6). And this silences our accuser.

2. For the Giant COMPROMISE, you need the stone that says...SEEK HIM FIRST. There are voices other than the Holy Spirit that would seek to direct our lives. And to take up that giant of compromise we need the stone that says put Jesus first. So as not to fall into the same pattern as the unbelievers do, we need to remind ourselves that we are in the world but not of the world. We are soldiers in Christ's service and therefore, our duty is to please our Commanding Officer (2 Timothy 2:4). When we put God above all else and put to death those desires that cause us to compromise, God will satisfy our legitimate needs, including wants that are aligned to His will. “But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness; and all these things shall be added to you” (Matthew 6:33). “Delight yourself in the Lord; and He will give you the desires of your heart” (Psalm 37:4).

3. For the Giant CONFUSION, you need the stone that says...GOOD AND HARD. Many end up confused and disillusioned because they thought life would be problem-free once they become Christians. No one said it was going to be easy. Not even Christ promised that. Rather, we are told, “Beloved, do not be surprised at the fiery ordeal among you, which comes upon you for your testing, as though some strange thing were happening to you...” (1 Peter 4:12). We must accept the reality that, yes, there are joys, but there are also sorrows. There are good times, and there are also hard times. There are battles, but there is victory. Having Christ in our lives does not mean the absence of storms, but it means having Christ with us in the midst of the storms. Both good and bad blend together in harmony toward what God wants to accomplish in and through us. What seems like adversity can become a blessing for the glory of God. “And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose” (Romans 8:28).

4. For the Giant FAILURE, you need the stone that says...DON'T LOOK BACK. The past has a way of paralyzing us. We must learn from the past but not be controlled by the past. We must leave the past behind, and move on. Past failures, past successes, past grief, past glory – these are things that need to be removed from our memory bank. “...never forget what is worth remembering and never remember what is best forgotten.” turning our eyes on Jesus will get us past yesterday's failures and set our sights ahead toward a glorious future. As Paul said, “Brethren, I do not regard myself as having laid hold of it yet; but one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and reaching forward to what lies ahead, I press on toward the goal for the upward call of God in Christ Jesus” (Philippians 3:13-14).

5. For the Giant DISCOURAGEMENT, you need the stone that says... NEVER GIVE UP! The fierce battles and disheartening situations can take their toll on us. They can weaken and bring us to the point of weariness and despair. But God will give us the strength to keep going, as Isaiah 40:30-31 encourages: “Though youths grow weary and tired, and vigorous young men stumble badly, yet those who wait for the Lord will gain new strength; they will mount up with wings like eagles, they will run and not get tired, they will walk and not become weary.” We can cling tightly to God's hand and hold firmly to His promise that He will never leave us nor forsake us. Following Jesus' example, we must endure the hardships in life, never giving in to the pressures and never giving up on our purpose. As long as we fix our eyes on Jesus, He will carry us through the race till the finish line. “Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before Him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God” (Hebrews 12:1a-2). Sharing Christ is what we must keep on doing even in the most trying times.

This is one of my favorite preachings I have watched. Each one is a reminder from the Spirit of Biblical principles we can apply in our lives. For every new convert, there would be lots of trials that can happen to them. I got friends who struggle a lot when they get saved. Some even backslid. Getting saved is not the end of the journey just because you have found Jesus Christ. Rather, it is the beginning of our Christian lives. I got saved when I was 6 and been through a lot. So yeah. This is an encouragement to all the Christians (even unsaved ones) that life is not easy. But with God, impossible is nothing. Remember the five stones. Christianity is not a playground. It is a battlefield!

If God is for us, who can be against us? Like David, we may be outsized and be carrying nothing more than stones into the battlefield, but these are the very stones that will strike our enemy down. Use them we must!

Living the Life

We went to the University of the South Pacific a while ago. That's where we studied last semester. I failed 3 courses so I quit it. We told our parents to send us back home next year. So yeah, we'll see how it goes.

While we were in USP, we hanged out with the Potters House USP gang, as they call it. lol. Here's a picture of us. Some where not here coz they went somewhere. lol.


They asked us how our classes were. And we were like "Oh no, we already quit school." They were like "How come?" They asked us what are we gonna do then while waiting for our flight back home. We said, "Well, we would be aimless bums." HAHAHA. Like eat, sleep, surf the net, and go out with friends. One of them said something like "burn out cash." LOL. And the other said, we are "living the life".

We might be living the life now coz we are not worrying about assignments, grades, and other school stuffs now. I'm pretty sure that when we go back to school, whether here or back home, we would be like geeks. I mean like, hello! We don't wanna fail and waste money again. Sigh.

I know this is so unproductive. Being lazy bums are not pleasing to the Lord. We should get a life. lol. I'm considering studying in IOTA (Institute of Technology Australia) but then if we do, we can't go home next year yet. And I doubt it if it would be credited to the Phil university am attending when I get back. Wasted time, money, and effort. So, what's the right thing to do? ARGH! I just pray to God for some enlightenment. Oh dear.

After the short meet up in USP, us girls went to town to have a late late lunch at 5pm. Lunch because we were really supposed to get lunch. Well, it ended up more like early dinner. lol. With some stuff we talked about there, it made me think again about some important things. Like, staying in Fiji. I found out that the minimum wage here in Fiji is $8,000 per annum. We are blessed with how much dad is earning. Well, we are not in the poverty line in the Phils anyway. lol.

About schooling, we have also talked about studying all those boring subjects when in reality, you can't apply all of them anyway, right? lol. We talked about investing and marriage too. How aimless we can get. HAHAHAHA. But it was fun though. Imagine us 5 or 10 years from now. Well, well, well. Who would be living the life God wanted us to be? I hope we all obey His Will for us. Man, I'm gonna miss these girls when we leave.

After Chicken Express, we had coffee and cakes at Gloria Jeans. Hehe. So yeah. Chatted for some time, took pics and vids, then went home at 7pm. haha.

Around 9pm, when we met some friends again. They just live nearby so we got ice cream from KFC, which happens to be near our homes as well. haha. Talked about anything and then took really aimless, cute, and funny pictures and videos. We ended the aimlessness at like 10:30pm. OMG. How can we stay that late outside. LOL. hahaha! It was a fun and tiring day.

The Life and Lifestyle I Want

Woohoo. Let's get serious here. LOL.

Well, although I don't believe in the education system anymore, I would still love to get a degree. haha. Why do dislike the education system now? Useless courses. Plus the school teaches us to study hard, get a job, work your ass out, retire. Still people get broke, not enough money for the bills, too much work and no more time for family, poor retirement plan. Where's the life, yo? lol. If you know Robert Kiyosaki, you know what am talkin about. I like his books. Hehe. He speaks about reality. Money runs the world now. Because of it, most people work for it, thus, they neglect what life is really all about. It's all about God!

I wanna have a business. A business that will work for me not me working for it. Something that would generate residual income so I can have the time of my life. Ok, this is not all about money, the important thing to me is the time freedom. I don't wanna get much stress from my business. When I was a kid, I rarely see my parents. So yeah. I don't wanna work too much coz I wanna have more time for my future family. (woohoo! am so thinking ahead ae? LOL) This is also the reason why I am so into Internet Marketing now. hehe

So yeah, I might be so lazy at the moment; no school, I just stay at home but I know what I am doing. But still, I need God to move upon my laziness! hehe. I know what my goals and dreams in life are. May God direct me to that path.

July Youth Camp 2008

Well, we had our Youth Camp last 18th-20th at Coral Coast Christian Center. Sorry for the long overdue blog post. lol. Hehehe.

Since I got here to Fiji, that was my third camp with Potters House (our church) and it was actually the best camp among the three camps I've been to. I don't know why, I just like it. HAHA.

We've learned about Maturity. It's from a Latin word which means Maturos which literally means to ripen.

Being mature is to have the sense that someone would judge your life, and that is God. There will always be consequences to our actions. When you're not the only one, it gives you courage and when you sin, you will feel better when you go it with someone. That's why there's this thing we call 'peer pressure'. We always feel comfortable if we do things with our friends, even those sinful ones coz we are taking the confidence from the fact that everyone else does that. Not thinking of what might happen ahead of us.

On Judgment Day, God will ask us these questions:
(Guidelines for teenagers, specially for those who are followers of Jesus)

1. Was I first in your life?
2. Were you committed to speaking to Me in prayer during your time on Earth?
3. What were you like when you were alive? What were you like when no one else is looking?
4. How important were My words to you?
5. Did the pattern of your life caused others to serve Me?
6. What did you do with the gifts I gave you?
7. Did you use your popularity for God?
8. Did you really give Me your best?

The other Word was about Self Esteem (Determining our Self Worth)

It is measured by our identity in Christ, our mission, and our potential. We are all brothers and sisters in Christ. Our mission is to be involved in helping each other. God reconciled us to Himself through Jesus Christ. He doesn't label us according to out past. He label us according to our potential. You might have stmbled but you need to get up. What is your true potential in Christ?

As what I've said, the recent camp was my favorite of the three. It was just so cool. I made more friends. Been stronger with those physical games we had, and of course, stronger in faith. Hehe. We had better food as well. loooool. HAHAHA. I used to starve in the camps here. Fijian and Indian food just don't suit my taste, I guess. lmao. But some our awesome!

Youth Camp this Weekend

Well guys, I'm going to the Youth Camp this weekend. =)

I'm not really looking forward to it. I don't feel like going this time because of some lame reasons but what can I do? Seems like God wants me to go there and would obviously MOVE again! haha. But well, am looking forward for some CONVICTION on my life. lol.

So yeah.. I'll reply to Cbox messages when I get back. Sorry, don't have a time for blog hopping this past few days... =|
